Synopsis The Story of Kimi no Nawa A.K.A Your Name Anime Movie

Tells the story of young men and women who live separately and have never met at all. The girl's name is Mitsuha Miyamuzu, while the boy is Taki Tachibana. Mitsuha, who lives in Itomori town in the Hida mountain area, is bored with village life and hopes to become a handsome boy in his next life.

The story started when Mitsuha wanted to live in Tokyo so much that every day she thought of herself living in Tokyo. One day suddenly came an extraordinary incident. When he woke up from a dream, he felt something strange in his room. When he realized it, he was very surprised because it turned out that his body had turned into a boy. Not only Mitsuha, but Taki was also just as surprised because her breasts suddenly became big. He turned into a girl.

At first, they thought the incident was just a dream, but eventually, they understood that it was not a dream. Then they both wrote in diaries about what happened every day. Because their bodies are not always switched. They communicate with each other writing messages on paper, cell phones, and sometimes on their skins.

Once upon a time, Taki as Mitsuha accompanied his grandmother and his sister to leave the kuchikamizake ritual that Mitsuha made as an offering at a mountaintop shrine outside the city. The shrine is believed to represent the body of a guardian deity that governs human experiences and connections.

The latest records from Mitsuha tell Taki about a comet that is expected to pass through Earth on a festival day in his city. A restaurant owner in Hida recognizes Itomori from Taki's sketch and also informs him of when the comet unexpectedly splits into two smaller pieces crashing into Earth destroying the city. Taki finds Mitsuha's name on the death note.
